The JVB team put together a strong all-around performance Friday in a scrimmage against Licking Heights, earning a 10–2 win behind a combined no-hitter on the mound.
Bennett Williams, Braden McEnery, and Jaxson Bryner led the effort, teaming up to keep Licking Heights hitless throughout the game. Bryner closed it out, recording the final out on a pop-up to finish off the no-hitter.
The JVB team set the tone early with a seven-run first inning. Bennett Williams got things started with an RBI single, followed by a two-run double from Eli Goodrich, a two-run double from Carter Jackson, and a two-run single from Lane Adelman.
The offense added three more runs in the second inning. Reece Homier brought one in with a sacrifice bunt, while Jackson and Ben Jereb each delivered RBI hits to extend the lead.
On the mound, Williams set the tone with two hitless innings, striking out three. McEnery was dominant in relief, recording five strikeouts, and Bryner finished the job with three hitless innings and six strikeouts.
Jackson also led the offense, going 2-for-2 with three RBIs from the eight spot in the lineup.
The JVB team will look to carry that momentum into Monday’s matchup at home against Gahanna Lincoln.
